I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Northern Ireland again, especially as a garden tour. The best part of the trip was how well it was curated and led by Chris and Amanda Brooke and how delightful it was to stay at their Ashbrooke House. Ashbrooke is in a delightful peaceful setting and the house is a lovely place to stay. It is elegant but comfortable, made even more so by Chris and Amanda's generous hospitality and the marvelous food prepared by our chef, Yuri. I was quite pleased with the garden tours where we enjoyed tours led by head gardeners or other staff with extensive knowledge of the gardens. My favorite gardens were those at Glenarm on the Antrim Coast and Glenveagh in northwest Donegal. I could have done without the trip to Donegal Town as it was so overrun with tourists that it was much less authentic than the other places we visited. Our steadfast group of travelers was fun to be with as none were held back in our garden pursuits by either the cold or the rain. Thanks to Bob and brother Don for being joyful leaders of the group.

Great locations and lodgings. Probably the best food I’ve eaten anywhere. Excursions were varied and interesting. Manor staff helpful and pleasant. Lived being able to take good walks nearby. Loved the presence of horses and sheep. Enjoyed our fellow travelers and meeting friends from other trips.

Northen Ireland Garden Trip was another fantastic experience with Travel Fever Tours. The group of people that travel with us was interesting and fun. The hosts and chef at the manor where we stayed were superb, and the gardens we visited each one more beautiful than the other. Thank you!

I had a wonderful time. I particularly enjoyed hiking on the trails, visiting the little villages and really getting a feel for life in Slovenia. Yes we had a bit of rain but somehow everything just worked out just fine. A special thanks to Bob and Liza for making it such a great trip.

I had a good time. The group held together well and was respectful to one another. The hotel was great and had excellent food. The hotel and tour staff went above and beyond in accommodating us for our trip. I had asked for a roommate and was assigned to a woman who is no longer my roommate, but my friend. We saw a lot of the Julian Alps area, and when it rained we went to little local museums, which really gave you an insight into the place. It is truly beautiful, enough that I often wondered if the locals realize how truly lucky they are. The only small issue, because I have no idea how to solve it, is the ability level of the group. There were people who had climbed multiple American mountains many times, and people like me who consider walking 3-5 miles do-able. I had difficulty in rough terrain, and often sat out some hikes because of this. In the end, that’s my problem, not the trip. But I do think there’s a definite difference between a walk and a hike, and I’m not sure our guide got that concept. But it was a fascinating time in a truly gorgeous part of Europe. Thanks!
